Our story

The roots of E-Law Chambers can be traced to 1980, when M.A. Sebastian Medagoda was called to the Bar and began his legal career. Over more than four decades, the Medagoda legal practice has developed through a commitment to professional integrity, legal knowledge and trusted relationships with clients.
In 2012, the next generation of the family entered the legal profession when Dinushka Medagoda joined the profession. Today, E-Law Chambers brings together the experience of an established legal tradition with a contemporary approach to the changing needs of individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses.
Our journey is one of continuity and evolution—preserving the professional values that have shaped the practice while embracing new areas of law, modern business requirements and technology.

Our Heritage & Evolution
From a legal practice to a modern professional group
The foundation of E-Law Chambers lies in the legal career of M.A. Sebastian Medagoda, who was called to the Bar in 1980. As a lawyer with extensive experience in legal practice, including patent law, he established the foundation of the family's continuing commitment to the profession.
The next generation brought a new dimension to this tradition. Dinushka Medagoda, called to the Bar and entering the legal profession in 2012, has developed a practice with a particular focus on the legal and commercial requirements of modern businesses.
Alongside E-Law Chambers, the wider group has evolved to provide complementary professional and technological capabilities. E-Law Solutions (Private) Limited provides corporate secretarial and compliance services, while Lili Tech (Pvt) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of E-Law Solutions, serves as the group's technology arm, developing systems and technology-driven solutions to support the group's operations and clients.
Together, these capabilities connect legal expertise, corporate compliance and technology within a modern professional ecosystem.
